Ke Wei, male, the researcher at theInstitute of Metal Research- Chinese Academy of Sciences, doctoral supervisor, and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He graduated fromBeijing Iron and Steel Institute in 1957, majoring in metal science and heattreatment. 1979-1982 Visiting Scholar, National Physical Laboratory, UK. He hassuccessively served as the director of the Fatigue Fracture Research Office ofthe Institute of Metal Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, theresearcher and director of the Institute of Metal Corrosion and Protection, andthe director of the Academic Committee. He was the chairman of the ChineseSociety of Corrosion and Protection. He is a researcher and member of theAcademic Committee of the Institute of Metal Research of the Chinese Academy ofSciences, a director of the World Corrosion Council, the editor-in-chief of theJournal of Chinese Society for Corrosion Protection, and the editorial board ofprofessional journals, such as Acta Metallurgica Sinica, international journal ofCorrosion, and Materials Science and Technology.
Ke Wei has been engaged in theresearch of corrosion-resistant alloys and environmentally sensitive fracturesfor many years, andhas presided over the "Tenth Five-Year" major project of the NationalNatural Science Foundation of China "Corrosion Law and Behavior Predictionof Natural Environment of Materials" and the research on material failurein the fields of petroleum and petrochemical, aviation, nuclear power safety, and marine engineering. He has organized dozens of domestic corrosion expertsto jointly complete the investigation of China's industrial and naturalenvironment corrosion problems, published the "China CorrosionSurvey", which is the first nationwide corrosion survey since the foundingof the People's Republic of China, put forward a wealth of new information oncorrosion, providing a basis for the country's macro decision-making oncorrosion, and is generally valued by the leaders of the central and StateCouncils and peers in the corrosion community at home and abroad.
Ke Wei has served as the Chinese headof the China-UK and EU-China International Scientific and TechnologicalCooperation Research Project and the president of the 16th World Congress on Corrosion, and won the Edward Greco Award of theWorld Corrosion Council (ICC).
Ke Wei won the National Science andTechnology Invention and Science and Technology Progress Award for many times.Recent awards include the 2006 He Liang he Li Prize for Technical Sciences;< Nano-oxide concentrate and nano-composite coating >Second Prize ofNational Technological Invention Award, 2007; < Quantitative evaluationmethod of aircraft calendar life and its life extension application >Thesecond prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, in 2009, heparticipated in and < Visual Casting and Forging Technology Research Group>won the Outstanding Scientific and Technological Achievement Award of theChinese Academy of Sciences as a main member. In addition, in 2015, he won the"Achievement Award for the Construction of the Highest Discipline ofCorrosion and Protection in China" (Shi Changxu Award).
